Our Explorers class is a rudimentary skills class that focuses on social/cognitive behavior, fine/gross motor functions, emotional/self regulation and scholastic awareness. The main objectives of this class is to introduce your child to a classroom environment, help them learn and practice independence away from home and prepare them for the higher level of academic rigor they will see in our pre-k classes. Although this is a rudimentary class, please understand we are not a play based school and your child will be expected to participate in teacher guided activities as well as follow simple classroom instructions. There will be a certain level of expectation regarding behavior and independence. It is important to keep in mind your child's personality and disposition when considering enrollment in this class. We may not be the right fit for every 3 year old. We approach our daily lessons through cooperative hands on and discussion based learning which stem from teacher directed activities that help promote confidence, accountability and aptitude.
With all that said, we absolutely have fun and let loose during class, because that’s what 3-4 year olds are best at! Mrs. Ruth and Mrs. Marsea are loud, silly, messy and playful. We love to help our students explore their individuality and getting to know them and their family is our top priority! Below is a synopsis of our Explorers curriculum.
