My name is Ruth Davis. I joined Prodigy Learning Center in July of 2015 as lead preschool teacher to mentor these amazing little ones and help prepare them for their academic careers. Let me tell you a little about my background.
I have lived in Arizona most of my life but I was born in Indiana. I am the oldest of my siblings and I grew up teaching them as well as any other children who wanted to learn. In all of my endeavors, it seemed that teaching was a part of who I was. When I became a mother, I successfully home schooled my two children and I am very proud of who they have become as adults.
In 2010 I graduated from Northern Arizona College with my teaching certificate. While in school, I was often told by my professors I had a natural ability to engage children in the classroom. My experience spans a wide range of ages and a variety of educational systems, however my passion is teaching the youngest ones who have great energy and the same desire for learning.
In 2013 I left the public school system to start my own business as a private tutor and mentor which is when I met my friend Marsea and began working with her oldest child. I have enjoyed mentoring her children and have had the opportunity to watch her build a fantastic program. I was fascinated by how much care and love she had for these young scholars. Now I have the honor of helping to guide these young ones to bigger adventures in learning while working alongside my best friend.
My name is Marsea Williams, and I am a proud mother of two beautiful girls, Brady and Drew. After a few months of being a new mom and sending my daughter off to daycare, I knew I wanted a change. In May of 2010, I launched my home based daycare, Sugar Britches. With the help and guidance from friends and family, I have thoroughly enjoyed evolving my small business venture into the awesome program it is today, Prodigy Learning Center!
I am originally from Dallas, TX. I grew up playing all types of sports, such as basketball, volleyball and my all time favorite, softball. I spent summers as an assistant coach for girls 12 and under softball teams. And, after playing softball in college, I spent 4 years coaching at a private school in Dallas called The Hockaday School for Girls. There, I worked with athletes ranging in age from 12-17. I enjoyed being a mentor and leader for young women who strive to excel at their athletic abilities. A short time after I finished coaching, I took a part time position as a teacher at "My Gym." This enabled me to work with children from just a few months old up to 6 years of age. Not only was I able to teach ABC's and 123's, but My Gym's program was built upon the idea of learning through movement, using fine motor skills. It was right up my alley.
I had always known that I wanted to be a mom, but working around children increased my drive to start a family. My daughter Brady was born in July of 2009 and I had my second daughter, Drew in May of 2013. It has been a pleasure being home with my children during their most important years!
I have worked extremely hard to bring Prodigy Learning Center to life, and it has only improved with the addition of my team members. I am so excited about the future of our program and what we have to offer the families here in the East Valley. Our lasting relationships and references are a huge testament to the difference our program has already made!
